About Us

Paroisse St-Malo is a French-speaking parish established in 1892.

Blessed Magaret Pole Catholic Community is an English-speaking catholic community established in 1993 which serves surrounding communities along Hwy 59 from Tourond to Stuartburn.

Father Paul Nguyen, originally from the Kon Tum diocese in Vietnam, was ordained on June 4th, 2022 and appointed Pastor of Paroisse St-Malo Parish for a 6 year term.

He comes from a very devout family and the third of eleven children. He studied at a university in Vietnam for 5 years, got a diploma in French before entering the seminary. Bishop Legatt visited the seminary, during Father Paul’s first year of Theology. After talking for a length of time the bishop invited him to Canada.

The idea of living new experiences in a new country, to discover new people was attractive. I was still afraid to leave my family and my country, so the prospect did cause me some anxiety. I barely knew English, and I wondered how I would minister to people I didn’t know in a country I didn’t know. In the end, I said Yes”

He arrived in Canada in April 2016 and completed his studies at St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario.

He loves to help and serve others.

We are very blessed to have him as pastor of our parish.
